Children and youth begin each worship service in the Sanctuary with their families and are then led to the Religious Education wing of the building for age-appropriate faith exploration after the Time for All Ages.

Rev. Bonnie Dlott is a native of the Bay Area who served the Napa congregation for eleven years, retiring in 2017 for health reasons. Before being called to the ministry she earned a doctorate in Biological Chemistry. She identifies as a nature mystic, finding the sacred in the natural world and in acts of kindness. She is a wife and mother of two adult children.

And now for something completely different! Not long ago, a member of UUCSR tried to persuade me to do a service about elephants, and why their majesty, intelligence and social behavior deserve our reverence. She really loves elephants, and I was so persuaded! I scheduled the service, and… she promptly moved out of the state. Doh. But we’re going to talk about awe-inspiring elephants today all the same. After all, there are almost always a few in the room.
