We will explore that by way of a panel of members from the Congregation as they share their thoughts and experiences. Come to learn and understand what we can do here at UUCSR

“The History of Pride”

On June 28, 1970, on the one year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, the first Pride marches were held in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Thousands gathered and the liberation movements that have followed were a direct result of prior decades of LGBTQ+ activism and organizing.

“Imagining Worlds and Selves: The Spiritual Dungeons and Dragons”

The role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, now nearly 50 years old, shows no signs of waning in popularity. Today we’ll explore the power and beauty of this wonderful art, in which players express their inner elves, warriors, wizards, druids, and goblins as, through rolls of many-sided dice, they live out the fates and dramas presented by the Dungeon Master. D&D, we’ll find, teaches UU Principles in powerful and fun ways, grounding players in rich senses of self–even as they launch themselves into flights of fantasy.

CUUPs Maypole Beltane celebration Sunday 11:30 AM

It is that time of the year that makes the leap from Winter’s cold to warm wonderful Spring weather. In other words, Beltane has arrived. It is time to honor our Mother Earth and her fertility as she brings all her plants back from their long Winter sleep.  It is time for a May Pole celebration, hosted by our own chapter of CUUPs, the Covenant of UU Pagans. The children will make their own flower crowns that day in Religious Education as they learn a little Beltane history. We will have some flower hair crowns and Green Man masks for adult dancers. If you have your crown from previous years, wear it with pride that day! We will also need many chanters to sing us around the circle. We will be dancing the May Pole in the courtyard immediately after the 10:30am service ends. For more information: email cuups@uusantarosa.org
